The Abbyland Trucking & Service Plaza Story

Welcome to Abbyland Trucking, a division of the Abbyland Companies—one of Wisconsin's largest and most respected family-owned employers. Abbyland Trucking began its journey in 1990, when Abbyland constructed its first dedicated trucking facility to ensure customers received their products quickly and efficiently. The company started with just two straight trucks, fourteen semi-trucks, and sixteen trailers, delivering primarily throughout the Midwest and East Coast.

In November 2008, Abbyland Trucking expanded into a state-of-the-art facility inside the Curtiss Travel Center complex. This modern building allowed the company to grow into diesel repair, tire sales, parts, maintenance, and a full-service washbay—solidifying Abbyland Trucking as a regional leader.

Today, Abbyland Trucking proudly operates approximately 50 semi-trucks and 125 trailers, delivering Abbyland products across the United States while offering complete repair and truck stop services to drivers and fleets nationwide.

Our Legacy: A Company Built on Vision

Abbyland's story began in 1977 when founder Harland Schraufnagel, a Wisconsin native and meat industry veteran, launched Abbyland Foods as a custom beef processing plant. From its humble beginnings, Abbyland quickly expanded, introducing sausage production, pork processing, fast-food product lines, and multiple new facilities over the decades.

Harland's leadership helped Abbyland grow into a national brand and earned him induction into the Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame in 2013. Today, Abbyland employs more than 1,000 people across five divisions, including trucking, food production, distribution, and hospitality.
